Heh. What do you get when you glue together two Panasonic AG-DVX100A cams, bypass the miniDV tape resolution and colour ceilings by feeding the data directly from their a/d converters via USB, mod a pair of Apple Mac Minis to boot from flash memory and smack in a pair of fast hard drives, sync both lens apertures and sort a few other bells and whistles to keep everything parallel (or should I say almost parallel:)?
You get a nice stereoscopic 1280x720p resolution 6CCD camera to play with. Of course you need some fancy editing cpapbilities to handle all of that raw data. And you need to outfit your audience with 3D glasses or headset to watch. Regardless, I think I’d like to shoot something with this rig.
