How good are you at analysing and critiquing images? If you haven’t yet, give a look at Michael Shaw’s BAGnewsNotes where the stated mission is:
.) To analyze “high profile” news, advertising and advocacy images for the way they reveal political or cultural stereotypes. From a more partisan point of view, the intent is to also explore potential underlying conservative or commercial agendas.
.) To encourage and help train my readers to become better consumers of visual news media, advertising and advocacy images, and political propaganda (of all stripes).
.) To provide a platform for the BAGnews cartoon, which has been featured on such well regarded political websites as Znet, Bartcop, CommercialAlert.org, Adbusters and New York Surveillance Camera Players.
.) To provide a showcase for (what I subjectively consider to be) the most worthy progressive visual commentary and satire (including, but not limited to charts, graphs, maps, flash animation, video clips, activist art and protest graphics).
